Welcome to Session 5
This session helps you bring together the governance themes from Module 2 and turn them into a practical operational risk management framework.
You will learn what core elements a workable ORMF needs, how those elements connect, and how to design a framework that is proportionate, clear, and usable.
Learning objectives
- Identify and explain the core elements of an operational risk management framework (ORMF).
- Show how governance, policy, appetite, roles, assessment methods, reporting, escalation, issue management, and resilience interfaces work together.
- Distinguish a paper framework from a working framework that is embedded in day-to-day management.
- Evaluate common framework design weaknesses such as duplication, weak ownership, missing thresholds, and poor integration.
- Draft a fit-for-purpose ORMF outline for an organisation or case-study context.
